Calgary Flames: Happy Father’s Day, here are iconic dad moments
Happy father’s day! Let’s look at some iconic dad moments surrounding the Calgary Flames over the last couple of seasons.
What would a father’s day be without some Calgary Flames dad moments? While not everyone on the team are dads, there are still some players who have dad moments whenever. For example, Sam Bennett balding (sorry Sam).
There’s also the fact that basically, every Flame was having a child in April for some reason. Of course, if playoffs were to happen, it would be at the worst time.
Travis Hamonic became a new dad this year with him and his wife Stephanie welcoming a little girl. Hamonic also lost his father when he was just ten years old and started the D-Partner organization as a result.
Michael Stone also had a boy this April. It was his first boy with him already having two twin girls. And Mark Giordano had a baby as well (well, his wife) and like Stone, he’s already a dad. TJ Brodie and his wife are due quite soon for their first child as well.
There are some players who aren’t dads but have dad-like qualities. Like Jaromir Jagr, who is no longer on the team, but he was sort of getting old and getting into dad-like behaviours. Like this video here.
Really Kelly? Are we sure Bartkowski is that good of a skater and he didn’t just get some help?
This next clip is from the season before, but we couldn’t not include it. The Calgary Flames had a joke-off of corny jokes and the first one to laugh loses. But another term for corny jokes is really just dad jokes.
I think my favourite was when Kris Versteeg started laughing before Troy Brouwer even finished the Giordano hairy joke. Now I wish we could know what that joke even was. I bet Versteeg came up with all these jokes.
Speaking of Versteeg, he had a great time at Super Skills. While he couldn’t compete due to injury, he was still the one having the most amount of fun. What a dad.
Being a hockey dad isn’t always easy, though. Especially when your kids like to fight. Take it from Mike Smith.
Hey, they’re just taking after their own dad.
While it is father’s day and we should be focusing on the dads, let’s not forget about the moms!
This was the first time in franchise history that the Flames decided to do a moms trip instead of their regular annual fathers trip.

That’s all we got for now. Happy father’s day to all the dads out there!
