The Calgary Flames have released their training camp rosters. On the lists, we have learned of ten professional tryouts, including the ones we’ve already known.

Move aside Erik Karlsson, the Calgary Flames have their own breaking news as well! The Flames have officially released their training camp rosters via Pat Steinberg on Twitter. With that news, we also now learn about ten players who are signed to professional tryouts with the team.

We’ve already known about G Jeff Glass, F Logan Shaw, and D Justin Falk. The others we have learned about are D Philip Samuelsson, D Viktor Svedberg, D Ryan Sproul, D Duncan Siemens, F Scott Sabourin, F Justin Auger, and F Gilbert Brule.

The most surprising player here is Gilbert Brule. He was drafted sixth overall in 2005 by the Columbus Blue Jackets, played about seven seasons, and hasn’t been in the NHL since 2013-14, where he only played in three games for the Arizona Coyotes. Since 2014, he’s played for a few different teams in the KHL and represented Team Canada at the Olympic Games this past February, winning a Bronze medal.

Unsurprisingly, none of the PTO’s are with the team in China.

Among all these players, word on the street is that Jeff Glass may have a good chance of sticking with the team. I’m not quite sure why the Flames love signing below-average players named Glass to PTO’s and then offering them a contract. Cough cough Tanner Glass cough cough.

Next. Flames goaltending is a concern. dark

It’s safe to say that most, if not all, of the defencemen won’t stick with the number of d-men the Flames currently have. And if any do stick around, they will most likely (hopefully) be in the AHL. But I don’t get my hopes up anymore, I’ve learned to stop trusting Brad Treliving. Sorry Brad.
