The Calgary Flames have made a trade with the Seattle Kraken…but it’s not for who you’d think.  Details and comments below.

It’s official! The Calgary Flames have made a trade with Seattle Kraken for…NOT Mark Giordano.  Details below.

Järnkrok, who happens to be Elias Lindholm’s cousin, has been the subject of trade rumours for some time.  And with good reason.  In 49 games centering the Kraken’s second line and first power play unit, he has put up 12 goals and 14 assists.  With the Kraken out of the playoff picture, the player wasn’t likely to stick around.

The 30-year-old Swede was acquired by the Kraken from Nashville via the expansion draft.  His introduction to the team was more amusing than intended when NFL’er Marshawn Lynch announced his selection and clearly could not pronounce his last name.  So he didn’t really try.

Järnkrok is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.  Seattle has retained $1M of his $2M AAV.
