Calgary Flames Prospects’ Camp & Young Stars Classic Schedule
Keep a look out for a more detailed preview piece on the Young Stars Classic in Penticton, BC.
For now, know the Flames are bringing a young roster to the four-team prospect tournament highlighted by recent first round pick, Samuel Honzek, and top forward prospect, Matt Coronato.
The Flames group will have a 10 a.m. MT skate tomorrow (Thursday the 14th) at WinSport before heading west to the Okanagan Valley for three match-ups against the Canucks, Oilers, and Jets.
Here’s the Young Stars Classic schedule as posted by the Calgary Flames:

The Young Stars Classic games will be streamed LIVE right here on CalgaryFlames.com with Flames TV host Brendan Parker doing the colour commentating. As well, all three Flames games will be broadcasted live on Sportsnet 960 THE FAN.– CalgaryFlames.com
Calgary Flames Main Camp Schedule
No official schedule is out, but here’s what Pat Steinberg speculates the beginning of Calgary Flames training camp to look like (September 6 on Flames Talk):
- (Camp opens) Wednesday, September 20 – Physicals
- Thursday and Friday, September 21 and 22 – Initial on-ice sessions
- Saturday, September 23 – Potential skate
- Sunday, September 24 – Morning skate and pre-season opener versus the Canucks
Main camp will roll on through an eight-game schedule that wraps up on October 6.
Calgary Flames Pre-Season Schedule
The Flames pre-season schedule includes eight matchups against four different teams:
- September 24 versus Vancouver – 6:00pm MT
- September 25 versus Seattle (split-squad) – 7:00pm MT
- September 25 at Seattle (split-squad) – 8:00pm MT
- September 27 at Winnipeg – 6:00pm MT
- September 29 versus Edmonton – 7:00pm MT
- October 2 versus Winnipeg – 7:00pm MT
- October 4 at Edmonton – 7:00pm MT
- October 6 at Vancouver – 8:00pm MT
Expect to see more prospects in the lineup early on with vets working their way into the lineup as the regular season draws closer.
Following the pre-season schedule, we’ll get our first look at the opening night roster. The 2023/24 regular season will kick off at the Saddledome on October 11, as the Flames host the Winnipeg Jets.
