All the love in the world to Chris, Kelsie, and the Snow family
Chris Snow is an inspiration and a leader in the Calgary Flames community. After being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) over four years ago, he continued to work in the Flames front office, far exceeding the original six months of life the doctors told he and his wife, Kelsie, he had left to live.
This past summer, Snow (“Snowy”) was promoted to VP Hockey Operations and Assistant General Manger.
Today, Kelsie shared a devastating update on Chris’ health:
I want to thank Kelsie and the Snow family for being so open throughout Chris’ incredible journey. While this is a truly devastating update that leaves me with tears in my eyes, I’m grateful that Snowy is part of the Flames organization. He is perseverance personified.
To the Snow family, the Calgary Flames and hockey community at large is thinking of you, is here for you, and is so thankful for you.

We know that our hockey family will want to help, and we appreciate that so much. Here’s how you can do that. Donate to the Calgary Flames Foundation in support of ALS research and treatment at leading institutes of Chris’ choosing, including Sunnybrook Brain Sciences Centre in Toronto. Chris visits Sunnybrook every month to participate in a clinical trial for the most promising ALS gene therapy treatment yet. The drug targets a specific genetic mutation that has devastated Chris’ family. Research dollars produced this treatment, and research dollars will accelerate a cure.

The Calgary Flames and greater hockey community are rallying around the Snow family at this time. Snowy has been an inspiration to so many, which is being exemplified by an effort from passionate Flames fans on Twitter/X to get #PutSnowInTheRafters trending.
Whatever the Flames do to honour and remember Chris, I’m sure it will be special, although no gesture can come close to giving what Snowy has given to the organization and the community.
