Taranjot Vining kicks off Flames TV Punjabi with Nazem Kadri
Taranjot Vining is a contributing writer here at Flame For Thought, but he’s also the new host of Flames TV Punjabi, an initiative started by Harnarayan Singh 12 years ago. Given the passionate and large Punjabi contingent within the C of Red, Flames TV Punjabi is a fantastic project that allows a vital part of the Flames fanbase to interact with the team in a more meaningful way.
After taking over from Singh over the summer, Vining made his inaugural appearances on Flames TV Punjabi over the summer. Check out those episodes here: Passing the Torch – Part 1, Passing the Torch – Part 2.
More recently, Vining stopped by Flames’ practice for a chat with Nazem Kadri on the season ahead, the Heritage Classic, and the importance of representation for people from minority backgrounds in hockey:
During the interview, Kadri thanks his passion for the game of hockey and competitive nature for his success in the sport despite any difficulties faced due to his Muslim background. Kadri also notes that’s it good see more diversity in hockey, although “that’s something that still needs a little direction.”
