Sometimes fan-made hockey hype videos are super tacky. Sometimes even music videos from “artists” with actual budgets in support of a Calgary Flames playoff run are cheesy as heck (not referencing anything in particular). But, every once in a while there’s a fan-produced video that pops up on social media, exceeds expectations, and gets you uncontrollably fired up for hockey. Yesterday, Flames fans were gifted a piece of video from a dedicated fan. Zeke (@AverageFan_Z on Twitter/X) deserves credit for his work on this video and I thought it needed a place on the web beyond his tweet, which will soon be buried by his Calgary Flames updates as the season rolls on.

Zeke’s season trailer mirrors Flame for Thought’s Calgary Flames Season Preview and does a brilliant job of building the narrative heading into the Flames’ 2023-24 season. It reminds us of the hope we had in the C of Red a year ago, fast-forwards to re-deliver the pain we felt as the gut-wrenching 2022-23 campaign wore on, and sets us up with fresh hope and anticipation for a new era in Calgary Flames hockey under Conroy and Huska. The highlight clips are electric and the audio is on point.

If you haven’t seen it, check it out here:

Thanks to Zeke for his Twitter/X presence and for putting together a video that had me running through walls before the game last night (RIP to my apartment’s damage deposit).
