The Calgary Flames have seemingly accepted that they are now in rebuild mode, and with GM Craig Conroy adding an immense amount of assets as they look to build a young contender for years to come. While the fans and the organization were hoping for a top three pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, the team ended with the No. 6 overall selection, with the likes of Carson Carels and Viggo Bjorck expected to be candidates for the Flames at that pick.

However, there appears to be a major push from some within the organization to move up in the draft, with the Flames being named as a team that could look to do business on draft night. Whether that's with Chicago or San Jose as the two most likely options, only time will tell, but if Conroy sees a star that will be available at No. 2 or 4, he may look to get aggressive to swing a deal.

While they may need to give up massive assets, that move could end up landing a player like Ivar Stenberg, but the Flames have some assets that they shouldn't be parting with, and they are the following five.

5. Dustin Wolf

While Dustin Wolf wasn't perfect in 2025/26, he more than proved himself worthy of the massive deal the Flames gave him to be the goaltender in Calgary for seven more seasons to come. Over his career thus far, Wolf has put together a 2.84 GAA and a .903 save percentage, and at just 25-years old, he's still nowhere near his prime.

On top of that, the combination with Devin Cooley has the Flames as one of the top goaltender tandems in the entire National Hockey League, giving the team one less position to worry about for the future. Ultimately, any of the teams looking to deal with the Flames in the draft likely won't be looking for a goaltender, but after signing his seven-year deal, Wolf is absolutely untouchable.
