The San Jose Sharks are in the midst of what appears to be a very successful rebuild, all centred around superstar centre Macklin Celebrini, who was one of the best players in the National Hockey League last season. The year prior to drafting him No. 1 overall, the team had the fourth-best odds at winning the lottery, but unfortunately, they stayed put at No. 4, drafting a key piece of the puzzle for their future in Will Smith.

While he hasn't arrived with the impact of Celebrini, Smith has been key to the Sharks building for the future, posting 104 points in his first 143 games played, showing that he has the ability to potentially be an All-Star down the stretch. The Flames have plenty of wingers, but if they stay put at 4 and land a player of Smith's caliber, it could certainly be a major positive for the future of the organization.
