2025: Philadelphia Flyers dropped to No. 6; Drafted Porter Martone

Last year was the worst possible outcome for a team with the fourth-best lottery odds, as the Philadelphia Flyers dropped not one, but two spots, falling as far as a team can to No. 6 overall under the current format. Thankfully for the Flyers, they managed to land a potential star of the future, as Porter Martone exploded onto the scene in the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, posting 2 goals and 3 points in their first 6 games.
That came after the Michigan State University star picked up 4 goals and 10 points in just 9 regular season games, and while the Flames are full of wingers in the NHL, it's safe to say that a player of Martone's quality would be a great pickup for Calgary.
If the Flames were to fall to No. 6, the worst case scenario, they would likely miss out on McKenna, Stenberg, Carels and Malhotra, but with a deep draft, even if the team do end up falling two spots, they still may have the opportunity to draft a great player.
