Back in 2023, Craig Conroy was officially named General Manager of the Calgary Flames, and since that point, the organization has seemingly been on the same page about how to go forward as a franchise. While Conroy is the person that gets most of the credit for that, it's safe to say that he hasn't been able to do that all alone, with the entire front office working towards the goal of rebuilding this team for the future.
Things may now be shaking up in the front office, as it has been reported by Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic and confirmed by Rick Dhaliwal that Assistant General Manager Brad Pascall has interviewed for the vacant General Manager role with the division rival Vancouver Canucks.
Add Calgary Flames AGM Brad Pascall as another candidate who has interviewed with the Canucks as well. https://t.co/xfTJsFkvOP

Brad working for the Flames right now. https://t.co/Clcz98ik0Z
The 55-year old ended his playing career back in 1995, and since then he's worked in various roles throughout hockey, joining the Flames and Brad Treliving in 2014, primarily working in player development. Then, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the Assistant General Manager following Treliving's departure, but with the organization handing Conroy an extension, it's likely that he's reached his ceiling with the Flames.
That doesn't mean he's definitely leaving, as there is plenty of interest in the Canucks GM role around the league, but given that he's from Coquitlam and would see this as a major promotion, it's no surprise that he's considered for the role. This isn't a situation that's likely to be resolved in the immediate future, and while it would be a well deserved promotion for Pascall, it's safe to say that he'd be missed in the Flames front office if he were to get the job.
