2026/27 may be a season that the Calgary Flames struggle on the ice, but it's also going to be a celebration, as this will be the final campaign for the organization in the Scotiabank Saddledome, an arena that's become synonymous with the franchise over the past 40 years.
Now, the official details on the Flames final home opener at the Scotiabank Saddledome has been announced, as the team will host the Pacific Division rival Seattle Kraken on October 1st.

Then, just three days later, we have confirmation that the Flames will travel to Seattle to battle the Kraken in their home opener, and with the arrival of the NHL's 84 game schedule, with the season kicking off much earlier than usual with the reduced pre-season schedule.
While the Flames are not expected to push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, there's still plenty to look forward too, with Zayne Parekh, Simon Nemec, Matvei Gridin and Matt Coronato among the young players looking to solidify themselves as crucial pieces of the organization moving forward. The remainder of the NHL schedule is set to be released this week, but for now, we know where we will see this team begin the season for the final time in the 'Dome before the fans get to enjoy Scotia Place for years to come.
