The Calgary Flames have picks at No. 6 and 30 overall in the 2026 NHL Draft, and after picking twice in each of the last two first rounds, this is more ammunition to add two future NHLers to their growing prospect pool.

Beyond that, they've got significant draft capital in the second and third rounds, with six picks between 35 and 68 overall, with the Flames now having some very important decision to make on all of those picks. Until now, General Manager Craig Conroy has made fantastic decisions at the draft, with many of the Flames top prospects and young players arriving during his first three drafts as GM.

Now, Conroy has spoken with the Barn Burner podcast ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft, revealing that he has been getting calls on all of their four second round draft picks thus far.

That's not to say that teams aren't calling on the first-round either, but given that the Flames are likely to use both of those, the interest in picks No. 35, 36, 51 and 55 overall should not be surprising to anyone. Whether or not that means teams are willing to give up NHL roster players or multiple later picks to move up, only time will tell, but with four very valuable picks, Conroy can start wheeling and dealing.

On top of that, Conroy could get aggressive and look to package them together to move back into the first-round, and given that the Flames have the quantity in their prospect group, this move would make sense to add much higher quality.

Ultimately, the Flames hold those eight picks in rounds one, two and three in the 2026 NHL Draft, and at this point, it's very unlikely that all eight of them are used by the Flames to draft a prospect, and with Conroy confirming the interest, we could see several trades during the draft.
