The Calgary Flames have found their rhythm as of late, as they entered Wednesday's Battle of Alberta on the back of four straight victories and wins in five of their last six games played.
Unfortunately for those fans wanting that success to continue, the team were outplayed by their rival on the road, falling 4-0 in a game that the Flames simply weren't up to scratch in.
On top of that, they faced injuries to two key pieces, the biggest of whom was goaltender Devin Cooley, and ahead of a back-to-back beginning with the Seattle Kraken on Friday, the team have made two recalls from the American Hockey League.
Calgary Flames Recall Arsenii Sergeev, William Stromgren
As of right now, it's not been revealed how long Cooley and fourth-line winger Brennan Othmann will be out of the lineup, but clearly, it's going to be enough time for them to bring two players up to the NHL.
On Friday, it became official, with the team announcing that winger William Stromgren and goaltender Arsenii Sergeev have been recalled by the Calgary Flames, and while neither will be in the lineup on Friday, there's an opportunity for one, if not both to play if they get time on the NHL roster.

In 11 games this season, the 23-year-old Stromgren has tallied 3 goals and 11 points, and after back-to-back solid seasons of 47 and 49 points, he appears on the way for his best campaign in the AHL to date. While he's on the older end of the prospect scale, Stromgren still clearly has the talent to become a good player at the professional level, and now, his opportunity to solidify himself may be here.
As for Sergeev, he has thrived in six games this season, posting a record of 4-2-0 with a 2.86 GAA and a .907 save percentage, and after making his NHL debut last season, he may get an opportunity again in the near future.
Ultimately, there's a chance that neither get a chance to take the ice for the Flames in this upcoming stretch, especially if Cooley and Othmann can get back quickly, but now, we've got two new young names to keep a close eye on.
