The Calgary Flames were blown away 7-3 on their return to Scotiabank Saddledome ice on Thursday night, and on Saturday at 8PM MT, they get another opportunity, this time against the Pacific Division rival Anaheim Ducks.
Unfortunately for the Flames, the Ducks have been one of the NHL's hottest teams early in the campaign, and given Calgary's inability to shut down high powered offensive play, this could get ugly once more.
The bad news doesn't end there however, as the Flames have made several changes heading into the game, with one key one being forced upon them due to a top prospect having yet another injury issue.
Samuel Honzek to Miss Saturday's Game Against Anaheim

After his last two seasons were riddled with injuries, Samuel Honzek looked promising early in the year, but unfortunately, he's not been skating the last few days, with fans growing worried that he'd suffered another injury. On Saturday, that was confirmed by Ryan Huska, with Pat Steinberg reporting that Honzek is out for tonight, with Maxim Tsyplakov set to return to the lineup to replace the 21-year-old.
Sam Honzek unavailable and won’t play tonight vs. Anaheim. Hasn’t skated the last two days.

Brennan Othmann and Joel Hanley on the ice late after optional morning skate, they’ll be the other scratches. Max Tsyplakov back in.
Lines at warmup. Dustin Wolf gets the start. #Flames
Unfortunately, that also means that Brennan Othmann, after a promising pre-season and a good showing in his only game this year remains a healthy scratch, with the team potentially sticking with the promising trio of Adam Klapka, Aydar Suniev and Jonathan Castagna on the fourth line.
Dustin Wolf Returns to the Net for the Calgary Flames

Through four games, the Flames have allowed 23 goals, and while Dustin Wolf has struggled, Devin Cooley hasn't been much better either, as the two have alternated through the Flames first four games. According to Steinberg, that will continue on Saturday, with Wolf getting the start as he looks to bounce back from a very, very rough start in two games against the Seattle Kraken.
Only time will tell if we can see Wolf get back to his best this season, but he'll get his opportunity on Saturday night, and with the Flames at 0-4-0, plenty of fans will be hoping he can help the team secure their first points of the 2026/27 season.
