Tynan Lawrence: Available in 14 mock drafts, selected in 1

Heading into the 2025/26 season, Tynan Lawrence, then in the USHL was seen as a top tier prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft, with some predicting that he could even be the top centre in the entire 2026 class. However, Lawrence made the decision to head to the NCAA and join Boston University, a decision that certainly hasn't helped his draft stock thus far.

While he may no longer be the Flames clear pick at No. 6, there's a chance that if things go a certain wait, the team could make that call, as he was drafted in one of the 15 mock drafts we went through. On paper, it wouldn't be the ideal selection, with Lawrence's production dropping to just 2 goals and 7 points in 18 games in college, but given the potential and the positional need, it's easy to see why some would mock Lawrence to the Flames.

Lately, chatter has surrounded Calgary and a potential trade up with their second pick, and while that's the most likely way Lawrence lands in Calgary, if their top choices are off the board, he could be a surprise pick at No. 6.

Viggo Bjorck: Available in 14 mock drafts, selected in 1

Recently, Viggo Bjorck has been gaining traction as a potential top-five pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, and with a great performance thus far for Sweden at the IIHF World Championship, he looks like a future NHL star. Back at the World Juniors, Bjorck tallied 3 goals and 9 assists in 7 games, and while his first SHL season wasn't amazing, he absolutely dominated the playoffs for Djurgardens Jr. team when given the chance.

In their run, Bjorck posted 8 goals and 20 points in just 9 games played, and given how well rounded he is, the chatter about being a top pick continues to grow for the 17-year old. The major drawback for Bjorck is the size, as he is just 5-foot-9, but with the mentality and the physicality to back it up, he can overcome that size issue.

The mock drafts around hockey right now have him being drafted just once by the Flames, but after adding Cole Reschny and Cullen Potter last year, the team could look to take a shot on another potential star centre if the board falls their way.

Daxon Rudolph: Available in 15 mock drafts, selected in 1

Since the end of the Calgary Flames regular season, talk has surrounded several prospects, but one player that has rarely been brought up is Prince Albert's Daxon Rudolph, an Alberta native. The biggest reason for that? Rudolph is a right shot defenseman, a position the Flames have covered now with Zayne Parekh, Zach Whitecloud, Hunter Brzustewicz and Henry Mews in the system.

Still, that hasn't stopped one mock draft having the Flames take him on the back of an incredible offensive season where he put up 28 goals and 78 points in 68 regular season games played. In the WHL Playoffs, Rudolph took his game to another level, picking up 27 points in 19 games as the Raiders made it all the way to the WHL Championship Series, only to fall to the Everett Silvertips.

If the Flames rebuild had gone a different way, Rudolph could be the big prospect that the team needed, but for now, with the amount of prospects that are available, Rudolph seems unlikely.
