The Calgary Flames have had a busy 12 months as they officially transition into a rebuild that was a long time coming, and after the 2026 NHL Draft, they've got plenty more decisions to make moving forward.
With July 1st being the start of free agency, the team need to decide whether or not they'll pursue potential additions to this team, but on Monday, they had a deadline to decide whether or not to extend qualifying offers to their 10 Restricted Free Agents.
The Flames have now officially announced that they have qualified offers to just three of those players: Simon Nemec, William Stromgren and Brennan Othmann, two of the three being players acquired in the past six months.

• Simon Nemec (D)
• Brennan Othmann (F)
• William Stromgren (F)
As a result, the group of Owen Say, Johnny Beecher, Carter King, Lucas Ciona, Parker Bell, Gavin White and Artem Grushnikov will now officially become free agents, with the Flames looking to clear up some cap space, thus letting all seven walk into unrestricted free agency on Wednesday.
For now though, the Flames will be hard at working signing all three of Nemec, Othmann and Stromgren to long or short-term deals, and while the door hasn't been completely shut on any of the other seven, it appears as though their tenures in Calgary have come to an end.
