The Calgary Flames have one of their best prospect groups of all-time, and while not many will be seeing the NHL anytime soon, that doesn't mean that Flames fans won't be able to keep up with their progress.

At any time, Flames fans can tune into games in Europe, the CHL, NCAA or the USHL and watch their favourite prospects, but there's no opportunity better than the annual World Juniors tournament in late December/early January. This year, the Flames may feature the most amount of prospects in the tournament than ever before, and now, prospect Theo Stockselius has taken a step towards representing his home nation of Sweden at the event.

On Monday, it was announced that Stockselius was selected for Team Sweden at the World Junior Summer Showcase, a key event for many prospects that could cement him as a key piece of Sweden's lineup ahead of the World Juniors in December.

In Sweden this past summer, the 6-foot-3, 196 pound centre posted 4 goals and 16 points in 11 games for Djurgardens Jr., and in the playoffs, he took his game to another level, tallying 11 goals and 20 points in just 9 games played. It's still unclear what Stockelius' potential is at the NHL level, but after the Flames used a second-round pick on him in 2025, it's clear they have very high hopes, and if he can make it to the World Juniors, he'll have the chance to show the world why he was so highly thought of.
