Europe

Last week, the big news out of Europe was 18-year-old Alan Shaikhlislamov being promoted to the KHL after a red-hot start in the MHL, appearing in his first game at the top level this past week. He didn't play much there, and has since returned to the MHL, but in just one game, he didn't get on the scoresheet, with his season total looking the same as it did a week ago; 13GP, 9G, 8A, 17P, -2.

However, Theo Stockselius' development has also been a very fun story to keep an eye on, and last week, he tallied his first goal for Djurgarden in the SHL. This week, he posted a second, and while his numbers aren't mind blowing, for a 19-year-old at the professional level as a second-round pick, he's been a net positive.

After 13 games, Stockselius has posted 2 goals and 5 points while being a -1 on the ice, but given his size and his clear skill, this is a player that is trending towards making the jump to North America sooner, rather than later.

Other Flames prospects performing in Europe:

Yan Matveiko: 20GP, 3G, 5A, 8P, -2
Nikita Ohkyutok: 20GP, 0G, 0A, 0P, +0
