The Calgary Flames prospect group continues to grow by the year, and with the Calgary Wranglers being close to home, it's an easy way for the organization to keep a close eye on the development of their team.
In recent years, this has been a very experienced group, with players like Andrew Basha and Etienne Morin struggling to get significant playing time down in the American Hockey League as they try to work their way to the next level. Now, we know that at least one significant spot will open up on the Wranglers for the season ahead following the report regarding veteran Martin Frk.

According to (as of yet confirmed) reports, the 32-year-old veteran is set to make his way to the KHL, signing a two-year deal with the Shanghai Sharks, officially ending an up-and-down tenure in North America.
Originally a second-round pick of the Detroit Red Wings back in 2012, Frk has played 124 games in his NHL career, posting 20 goals and 41 points in that time, with just 24 games played since the 2019/20 campaign. Since then, he's been starring in the AHL, and over the past two years with the Wranglers, he has posted 57 goals and 120 points, being a significant piece of the team in their top-six.
Now, he'll get an opportunity in one of the biggest leagues in the world, and while this doesn't confirm the end of his tenure in North America, as of right now, it looks like he's found his long-term home with the Shanghai Dragons.
