The 2026 NHL Draft is less than a week away, and on Sunday, two massive trades shook up the first round. First, Mackie Samoskevich was moved to the Seattle Kraken by the Florida Panthers, with the team then using that draft capital and their own No. 9 pick to acquire Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators.

With the draft set to begin on Friday, these moves have led to much more speculation, and for a Calgary Flames team looking to get back into the lottery for a second time, this is great news. Despite being involved in one of these trades, the Kraken could be looking to make another move, as speculation has surrounded the team and the No. 7 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

So, could the Flames and Kraken be a good trade partner for the draft, and what would it cost?
