Currently, the Kraken hold the No. 7 overall pick in the first-round, but with the team looking to chase a post-season spot in 2026/27, they likely don't want to wait for another prospect to develop after Berkly Catton arrived during the 2025/26 season. There's no guarantees that Seattle will look to deal the pick though, as one of Viggo Bjorck, Keaton Verhoeff or Alberts Smits will be available, and on paper, all three could significantly impact the Kraken's future.
Reportedly, the Kraken are looking for genuine top-six players, and with the Flames having the likes of Morgan Frost, Connor Zary, Matt Coronato and Blake Coleman all available, there could be a move to be made. On top of that, the Flames have picks No. 30, 35 and 36 available late in the first and early in the second round, and with that combination of players, a deal could certainly make sense.
It's unclear just what Craig Conroy would want to give up, but if the Kraken are open for business and the Flames have the chance to get picks No. 6 and 7 in the same draft, it's something that the Flames GM would need to get aggressive in pursuit of.
