After months of waiting, the Calgary Flames are officially back, as the final ever season opener at the Scotiabank Saddledome will take place on Thursday night with a battle against the Pacific Division rival Seattle Kraken.
It's no doubt going to be the start of a very emotional campaign for the Flames at home, and while not much team success is expected, given the history of the arena, there's no doubt going to be plenty of memories for those on the ice and for the fans in the stand.
For now though, it's one game at a time, and that begins on Thursday night, and in the hours before the game, the Flames lines for their first battle with the Seattle Kraken have been revealed.
Calgary Flames Name Lines For Opening Night

Given what we've seen in the pre-season and over training camp, the lines should come as no shock to anybody, with Pat Steinberg revealing what the team will look like ahead of their battle with the Kraken.

With Jonathan Huberdeau unavailable due to injury and the duo of Hunter Brzustewicz and Aydar Suniev back in the American Hockey League, these are the clear and obvious lines for the Flames, and while there's limited elite level talent on this team, there's plenty to keep an eye on for fans.
Did the Flames Get Their Lines Right Against the Kraken?

Given what the Flames have available with most of their young talent still at the junior level, the top-nine and the defensive pairs from Ryan Huska are spot on, but on the fourth line, many fans have questioned the trio.
Sure, Maxim Tsyplakov, Martin Pospisil and Adam Klapka are all solid role players, but given that Brennan Othmann won his roster spot in training camp, there are many that want to see him somewhere on that line. That desire is increased given what he did against Seattle in the pre-season, posting an assist and 23 penalty minutes in two games, and after admitting he loved playing the role as a rat on the ice, Othmann at 23-years-old is the type of player the Flames should be giving opportunities too.
Beyond that, this is the best lineup the Flames could put together, and with the likes of Matvei Gridin, Matt Coronato, Zayne Parekh, Samuel Honzek and Simon Nemec all getting opportunities, if they can take a step forward it will mean quite a lot to the future of the organization.
