For three straight seasons coming into 2025/26, the Calgary Flames failed to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and as a result, many fans were calling for the organization to move towards a full on rebuild. Given the overall lack of talent on the current roster, it was well known that the team was going to struggle, but with a top pick potentially waiting at the end of the season, there were no doubt reasons for the franchise to be positive.

Now, the regular season has come and gone, with the Flames finishing 29th overall in the National Hockey League, with the long-term future clearly becoming the priority for many involved in the Flames.
