While the current crop of young Calgary Flames have plenty of promise, the prospect group may have even more potential, and with six picks in the top two rounds in the draft, the future is going to keep on getting brighter. In 2025/26 however, it was all about the performance of their 2025 draft picks, with Cole Reschny and Ethan Wyttenbach the stars, with the former playing an elite two-way game on a Championship contender while the latter led the NCAA in scoring in his rookie campaign in an incredible way.

Beyond that, the team have the likes of Andrew Basha, Theo Stockselius, Luka Misa and others, and if many of these players can develop into NHLers, there's the potential that the Flames have already drafted their next core of players. As of right now, the majority of these prospects are expected to stay where they are next year or make the jump to the Wranglers, so while Calgary fans won't get a look at most of them at the NHL level next season, with patience, these players represent key pieces of the Flames future.
