The Calgary Flames have been a team going through immense change in recent seasons, and in 2025/26, we saw perhaps the biggest overhaul of talent under General Manager Craig Conroy. Not only did the team secure a top-six pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, but they added significant draft capital by moving veterans Rasmus Andersson, Mackenzie Weegar and Nazem Kadri.

That's provided the organization with the perfect opportunity to accept their rebuild and do things right under Conroy, and while the team will look much younger in 2026/27, they've still got some significant trade assets.

While the organization may look to wait on making deals until the deadline next season, this summer is a perfect opportunity for the front office to gauge interest in several players. Not all of them will be dealt, but the following five players are ones that should draw significant trade interest over the coming off-season.

Olli Maatta

The Calgary Flames moved some big name veterans last season, and while most hoped they would roll out a very young lineup, they got some veterans in those deals, including Olli Maatta, who was clearly not happy with his role in Utah. Like others, he hit the ground running in Calgary, and in 21 games played, he had 2 goals and 14 points, playing a solid role up and down the Flames left side.

For a player with a career high of 29 points across a full season, it's unclear if Maatta can recreate this type of success in 2026/27, but if the Flames get interest in a team needing veteran help on the blue line, they need to cash in immediately. It's unclear how aggressive Conroy will be in pursuing a trade this year, but with some young talent on the left side, if an offer comes in on Maatta, who has two more years at $3.5 million on his deal, it would be unwise to pass up on it.
