4. Joel Farabee
When the Flames acquired Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee during the 2024/25 season, fans were most excited about the former given the position he plays, but with Farabee's two-way game, he's quickly become an important piece of the Flames middle-six.
While he may never be a player that drives offense, Farabee plays a key role on the Flames penalty kill and may even feature on the PP2 unit, and after the third 20+ goal season of his career in 2025/26, things are trending upwards for the 26-year-old. In 2026/27, he'll once again be on a line with Mikael Backlund, and although that doesn't scream offensive production, if they can add a player like Samuel Honzek with potential to the line and give Farabee consistent top-six minutes, he could surpass 50 points for just the second time in his career.
3. Matt Coronato
The future of the Calgary Flames will be arriving over the next 24 months, but already some intriguing names for the future are starting to develop, and alongside Matvei Gridin, one of the most exciting players in the forward group is winger Matt Coronato. Last season, many hoped he would build on his 24-goal campaign from 2024/25, and while 18 goals and 45 points were enough to lead the Flames, that said more about the team than it did the 23-year-old.
Now, he's got an opportunity to take his game to the next level in 2026/27, and with some puck luck on his side, there's no reason why Coronato can't be a 30+ goal scorer next season.
Of course, with the future coming, Coronato quickly needs to establish himself as a key piece of the organization, and with one of the best shots of any Calgary Flames player in recent years, the stars could align for a fantastic 60+ point season for Coronato this year.
