5. Make Their Mind up Long-Term About Ryan Huska

For a number of years now, Ryan Huska's unwillingness to be flexible and prioritize the future of the organization have drawn him immense criticism, but late in the 2025/26, things appeared to change. The reason for that is the change in the front office, as the organization have now become more open and accepting of the word rebuild, and with the moves they have continued to make, it appears as though that is a top-down decision from the franchise as a whole.
Late in the season, Huska showed a willingness to rely on the likes of Zayne Parekh, with Matvei Gridin and Matt Coronato on the first line as well, and in 2026/27, that simply has to continue, with the team desperately needing to prioritize the future.
Craig Conroy has done all he can do this off-season to ensure that happens, but now, the responsibility is squarely on the shoulders of Ryan Huska, and unless he prioritizes that future, there's a chance he may not be a long-term fit with the Flames.
