4. Prioritize the Development of Samuel Honzek

Coming into the new season, we all know that Matvei Gridin, Matt Coronato and Zayne Parekh, the Flaems three most promising NHL ready players will be prioritized, but it can't stop there for Ryan Huska and Craig Conroy. All three of those likely already have their roles, but one player that isn't cemented in the lineup is Samuel Honzek, but after showing promise before an injury a year ago, the team need to give him a full-time role in the middle-six.

With a wing spot open next to the duo of Mikael Backlund and Joel Farabee, Honzek and his two-way potential would slot in absolutely perfectly, and alongside those veterans, he could develop his all around game immensely.

Sure, he may not ever have the potential of an 80+ point, top-line player, but right now, Honzek has shown with his physical growth that he can be a good player at the next level, and with the future being so key to Calgary, he should be prioritized this season as a potential core piece of the Flames next generation.
