Matt Coronato Has an Edge to His Game; Should be Wearing a Letter

The Calgary Flames haven't produced much on the scoreboard this year, but that doesn't mean that there hasn't been standouts, and across all six games, arguably the best forward on the team has been Matt Coronato.
Matt Coronato makes a nice individual effort to get a shot off from the slot.

This has been a great start for the Flames. They are out-skating the Ducks and moving the puck with efficiency.

Through six games, the 23-year-old has a goal and 3 points, but it's his gritty, physical play that has caught the attention of fans, and on Tuesday he was once again in the middle of the action, bringing Calgary into the fight. While the production isn't elite, Coronato is a key piece of the Flames future, and once again on Tuesday, he showed why he should be wearing a letter for the Flames sooner, rather than later.
Dustin Wolf Has His Best Game of the Season
Dustin Wolf hasn't been at his best early in 2026/27, and after two games, he had allowed a 6.00 GAA, easily the worst start to his career in the National Hockey League. In the Ducks 4-2 win on Saturday, Wolf showed a major step forward, but still let in some goals that a confident, in-form Dustin Wolf would have stopped.
On Tuesday, he wasn't back to his complete best, but after allowing just two goals on 25 shots, it's easily his best performance of the year to date, with flashes of the player that we've seen in recent years. We'll need to see more of this before Wolf can once again solidify himself as the Flames No. 1, but for now, any step in the right direction is a good one for No. 32, and Tuesday night was exactly that.
