Coming into the 2026/27 season, Flames fans looked at the likes of Zach Whitecloud, Morgan Frost and Ryan Strome as potential trade pieces, and if the team continue their losing ways, it's more likely than not that they could fetch some solid assets for the three.

On Tuesday, it was the depth of the squad that shone brightest, with Martin Pospisil, Adam Klapka and Yegor Sharangovich all chipping in with goals. That doesn't mean one game will improve their value enough for the Flames to get a significant return, but if depth players like that can play at this level, they could be used as trade chips as well, and ahead of the deadline, teams could come calling.

Aydar Suniev is a Potential Key Piece for the Flames

During the pre-season, Aydar Suniev was a key standout for the Flames, but somehow, the former third-round pick was sent back to the AHL, despite too many veterans clogging up the wing spots in the NHL. It didn't take him long to return however, and in just three games, he's solidified himself as a permanent member of this roster moving forward.

Not only did Suniev tally his second goal in as many games on Tuesday, but he added an assist as well, and in three games, he's now sitting at two goals, three points, showing why he can be a key for this team moving forward.

Ultimately, Suniev's success this season could be a big story in Calgary, and if Ryan Huska continues to give him time in the top-six (preferably remaining on the top line with Morgan Frost and Matt Coronato) and on the powerplay, we could be looking at a breakout campaign for No. 61.
