The Calgary Wranglers Will Have a Fun Lineup in 2026/27
Last season was one of the worst in recent memory for the Calgary Wranglers, as the team finished last in the Pacific Division, ending their campaign with no appearance in the Calder Cup Playoffs. This year, the team are going to get a major injection of youth and talent, and during this matchup, several of those players flashed high end potential.
The main standouts were Jonathan Castagna, Tyson Gross and Andrew Basha, and while none made an impact on the scoresheet, they all looked rather dynamic and created plenty of chances. The trio will be injected into a team that needed some youth and speed in the lineup last season, and given the chemistry they've built, there's no reason for all three to be outside the Wranglers top-six.
Obviously, this may not translate to success for the Wranglers, as youth isn't always a precursor to success, but in terms of excitement for the future of the organization, the AHL will see plenty of key pieces for the future in Calgary get their opportunity this season.
