The Calgary Flames pre-season has started 1-1 thus far, and with the finale set for Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers, the team wanted to get their young prospects and AHL players into the action on Thursday.
So, like they did against Vancouver on Tuesday but in reverse, this time the Flames sent their young team against a full-strength NHL squad, and to the surprise of many, Calgary's team competed, forcing overtime and eventually falling in a dramatic shootout.
Obviously, the result doesn't mean anything given that it's pre-season, but with such a performance sparking chatter on social media, let's take a look at what we learned about the Flames in this encounter.
