Team Slovakia

While the first two teams on our list managed to make it to the quarterfinals, unfortunately, Martin Popsisil and Team Slovakia are not one of them, as they came away with a record of 1-1-1-4 through their seven games, finishing seventh in Group B.
That wasn't due to a lack of trying from Pospisil, as he posted 1 goal and 4 points through 7 games with a very solid -1 differential for a team that won just two games overall.
And Slovakia has restored Slovakia's three-goal advantage. 4-1.

Right now, Pospisil's future in Calgary is very unclear, but one thing is for sure, and that is when he takes the stage for Team Slovakia, he steps up, even if it ended up as a very disappointing tournament for his team.
Team Canada
Lastly is Team Canada, who came into this tournament with a point to prove following their disappointing finish at the 2026 Olympic Games, and despite a scare against Norway, they've clearly been on a mission.
Across their seven games, Canada were one of just two teams to go undefeated, posting a record of 6-1-0-0 as they finished atop Group B, with defenseman Zach Whitecloud playing a key role for this team in that time. On paper, Whitecloud's production didn't make much of a difference, as he was a -2 through seven games with no points scored, but given his style of play, he was a consistent force on Canada's bottom pair.
Unfortunately, it's unclear if Whitecloud will ever be an offensive force in the NHL or at the international level, but with Canada the clear favourites to go all the way, he's still got a major role to play for this team.
