The Calgary Flames once had one of the best defensive groups in the NHL, but over the past four years, they've moved towards a rebuild, and as a result, a lot of those top players have been moved on by the organization. From Mackenzie Weegar to Noah Hanifin to Rasmus Andersson, the position has been transformed by General Manager Craig Conroy, and with a bright looking future, we could be seeing them thrive in years to come.
In 2025/26 however, there were plenty of changes and growing pains on this blue line, and while things improved towards the end of the year, it certainly wasn't easy in front of Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley. While the future looks bright, the present definitely isn't perfect, so now, we'll take a look back at the season that was and hand out our grades for the Calgary Flames blue liners performances.
