Abram Wiebe
Abram Wiebe began the 2025/26 regular season as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights prospect group, but in the Rasmus Andersson deal, he was dealt to Calgary alongside Zach Whitecloud and multiple draft picks. While he was an underrated piece of the deal, his production at North Dakota was very promising, as he posted 29 points in 40 games with a +13 differential.
At 22-years of age, he was immediately thrust into the Flames starting lineup upon completion of his NCAA season, and while he didn't impact the scoresheet, he seemingly settled into his role in the NHL rather quickly. With good size, speed and clear skill, the pathway to becoming a full-time NHLer is there for Wiebe, although he will likely need significant seasoning down in the AHL before getting to that point.
To start the year, no one in Calgary knew much about Wiebe, but now, he's a name to keep an eye on for the future, and while he failed to stand out much in his time on the ice, he has shown enough flashes of potential to be very excited about.

Jake Bean
Jake Bean's tenure in Calgary wasn't a very successful one, but after being signed to a two-year deal in the summer of 2024, there was some excitement about the Calgary kids potential in this lineup. Unfortunately, he played in just 80 games over the past two seasons, and after just 16 of those came in 2025/26, it's hard to see his tenure as anything but a failure.
In those 16 games, Bean had 1 goal and 2 points to go along with a -7 differential, and while he lost his spot in the lineup due to injury, he was replaced by much younger and much more promising players. Now, he's set for free agency, and after not playing for much of the 2025/26 season, most fans likely won't even realize he's departing, as he failed to make much, if any impact at all on this team throughout the season.
