Devin Cooley

Devin Cooley was a major unknown for Calgary coming into the regular season, and after both he and Ivan Prosvetov struggled in the pre-season, it was unclear who would get the backup job in the regular season. It ended up being Cooley following a good 2024/25 season for the Wranglers, and once he got that opportunity, he never looked back, as he pushed Dustin Wolf for the starting role the entire season.
In 31 games played, Cooley posted career best numbers with a save percentage of .909 alongside a 2.69 GAA, and in doing so, established himself as one of the best backups in the entire NHL. That earned him a two-year extension that pays him $1.35 million per season, and with that stability in net for the Flames, that's one position the front office doesn't have to worry about for a long time.
