Over the past three years, the Calgary Flames have cleaned house, moving Nazem Kadri, Mackenzie Weegar, Rasmus Andersson, Elias Lindholm, Chris Tanev, Noah Hanifin and several other veterans. Last season, the team acquired significant assets of the future, and while there's limited veterans left to deal for GM Craig Conroy, the expectation is that he will trade Blake Coleman at some point in the next 8 months.
For many fans, the hope was that he would be dealt this summer, and given the logjam the team have on the wings, it's safe to say that the team will be forced to move out at least one player during the off-season. Out of all the Flames up front, Coleman would net them the best return as a two-time Stanley Cup winner with a fantastic two-way game, but according to Pierre LeBrun, the trade market on Coleman has gone very, very quiet.
Trade market quiet for the moment on Blake Coleman. Obviously that can change in a moment's notice. But it sounds like the 10 teams on his approved trade list either don't have enough cap room to engage fully or some of the teams are working on other targets for now.

Coleman, 34,…
In LeBrun's latest report, he reveals that of the 10 teams on Coleman's approved trade list, none currently have the assets or the cap space to get things done, and while that could change with potential retention or corresponding moves from those teams, it's unlikely we see a Coleman deal ahead of the 2026 NHL Draft.
This doesn't mean that a deal won't happen this summer, and even if it doesn't, Coleman will likely be dealt ahead of the 2027 trade deadline, but for those holding out hope that the Flames could move No. 20 this off-season, it appears as though nothing is on the horizon.
