BREAKING: Flames trade for former AHL Rookie of the Year.
General Manager Craig Conroy stays active leading up to the deadline as the Flames announced a trade during the first intermission of their game with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
After just making a deal with the Dallas Stars a week ago in the deal that involved Chris Tanev, the Flames and Stars are once again involved in a trade.
The Flames have traded Calgary Wranglers winger Emilio Pettersen to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Texas Stars center Riley Damiani.
Damiani is in his fourth season with the AHL Stars and currently has ten goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 53 games played this season.
The 23-year-old Mississauga, Ontario native won the AHL's Rookie of the Year in 2021, where he scored 11 goals, and a team-leading 25 assists for 36 points in 36 games.
Following the deal, the Flames assigned Damiani to the Calgary Wranglers.
Going the other way, Pettersen who was in his fourth season in the Flames organization currently has seven goals, 23 assists, and 30 points in 54 points which was good for fourth in team scoring.
With one day remaining until the 2024 NHL Trade deadline closes, we shall wait and see if Conroy has anything else cooking.
