While the entire Calgary Flames fanbase is buzzing after the trade of Noah Hanifin, there's some more news to be had for the C of Red, with the NHL officially handing down their ruling to rookie forward Martin Pospisil.

The rookie's night started with a hit on Adam Larsson, and ended abrubptly when he hit Vince Dunn from behind, with the officials rightfully giving him a five-minute major and an ejection, and now, the NHL has rightfully suspended the 24-year old.

As announced on Wednesday evening, the league has officially suspended for three games for boarding on Dunn, and with Connor Zary on the Injured List and Hanifin on the way out, this will leave the Flames fielding an intriguing lineup against Tampa Bay on Thursday.

Throughout his rookie campaign, Pospisil has excelled alongside the talented duo of Nazem Kadri and Connor Zary, but he's been smart enough to not cross the line with his physicality. Unfortunately though, something changed on Monday Night, as he crossed the line and has been punished for it.

With less than 50 games under his belt in the NHL, this is something that will take time to learn, and if he can continue to produce on one of the teams best lines, he will be a valuable player going forward for the Flames, but this is a great lesson for him to learn early in his career.
