Calgary Flames Forward Martin Pospisil to Face NHL Department of Player Safety
The Calgary Flames had their five-game winning streak snapped on Monday Night by the Seattle Kraken, but that be the least of their problems coming out of the divisional clash.
During the hotly contested contest, rookie forward Martin Pospisil gave out not one but two questionable hits, with the second likely to lead to a major fine or even a suspension. The first came on the first play of the game, with defenseman Adam Larsson's head hitting the boards rather awkwardly, but it was the hit on Vince Dunn that landed him in hot water.
Given the ejection, this comes as absolutely no surprise, but it has now been confirmed that the 24-year old will face the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Wednesday, with a suspension highly likely.
The rookie has been on an incredible rise in 2023-24, being promoted from the AHL to shockingly becoming a first line player for the Flames, tallying 6 goals and 15 points in his first 45 games with the Flames. It's his physical play alongside the highly skilled Nazem Kadri and Connor Zary that's earned him a permanent spot on the roster however, so we hope that this latest incident is another lesson for him to toe the line but not take it too far.
