Last season, there was some optimism that the Calgary Flames could shock the NHL world, but with the team dealing three of their most important veterans, they finished 29th in the NHL standings, and this season, many expect things to get worse.
That should be no surprise, with the team looking to lean on their future and dive right into their rebuild, but that doesn't mean this team has a lack of veterans heading into the 2026/27 campaign. Now, it's up to Head Coach Ryan Huska to balance that heading into a season where many expect the Flames to finish in the bottom three of the NHL standings.
