The Calgary Flames are off to a rocky start in 2026/27, and given their overall lack of talent, fans are bracing for what could end up being the worst season in the history of the iconic franchise. Through two games, the Flames have now been outscored 10-2, and while there were many more positives in this one, once again, the team looked out gunned and out classed.

Through two periods, the game was balanced on the knifes edge, but given the talent edge that a now 2-0-1 Vancouver Canucks team have over Calgary, they pulled away in the end, showing the gulf between the Flames and Canucks heading into the season.

So, it's been two tough defeats and a -8 differential for the Flames, and with Seattle ahead for the second time this week on Sunday night, let's take a look at what we learned from Game No. 2 of 84.
