3. It's Still Pre-Season
This was the Flames second game of the pre-season, but their first to feature NHL talent, and while they got their legs under them, it was very apparent in the first period that this was the first game of the season for most. Whether it be sloppy passes, players not being able to receive passes or being out-hustled, this game featured all of the classic signs that this was still just the first game of the pre-season for many.
As the game went on, players clearly started to find their groove, with the red-hot finish to the second period being the difference in this one as they tallied all three goals within five minutes. On top of that, it was just a young lineup for the Canucks, so any reactions to this game shouldn't be too strong, but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot to take away from their performance.
