4. Morgan Frost
When the 2026/27 season arrives, Morgan Frost may not be a member of the Calgary Flames, because with just one-year remaining on his current contract, neither the team nor the player have made a long-term commitment. More likely than not, he will go into the season with one year remaining on his deal, and while that may lead to him being traded, after the way he performed down the stretch in 2025/26, he may have earned a long-term deal.
In his final 21 games, Frost had 9 goals and 14 points, and on a line with Matvei Gridin and Matt Coronato, they have the opportunity to be the Flames best line, and with so much offensive upside, all three find themselves on this list. Right now, Frost's career high in scoring is 46, and in his first full Flames season he posted 43, and if he remains on a consistent line throughout the year, this could be the time he passes 50, even 60 points.
3. Zayne Parekh
After two of the most dominant Ontario Hockey League seasons by a defenseman in history, Zayne Parekh entered the NHL to immense excitement and hype, but in 2025/26, the team and player just couldn't get on the same page, as he departed to represent Canada at the World Juniors. When he returned however, it was a different story, with Parekh looking comfortable as he posted 4 goals and 8 points over his final 20 games.
Sure, he's clearly not yet ready to be a guy that can score 60+ points in a season, but if he gets paired with the right partner on the blue line and gets given free reign to run the Flames top power play unit, the potential is still there. If the Flames leader comes in at under 50 again, the young blue liner is a chance to lead the team in scoring, but given that he's still just 20-years-old, fans would be very happy to see consistent improvements in all aspects of his game.
