4. C Brooks Rogowski
Of all the prospects in the 2026 NHL Draft, Brooks Rogowski may be one of the most overlooked, with the 6-foot-7, 225 pound centre taking a huge leap forward in the OHL this past season. In 46 games for the Oshawa Generals, Rogowski tallied 15 goals and 42 points, and while the potential in his offensive game is limited, it's hard to deny that physical presence and how it would work in the Flames middle-six if he was developed well.
Despite the size, Rogowski needs to be more comfortable throwing his body around, but with his responsible play in the defensive end and his surprising puck skills, he could be a very good player at the next level. Unlike others on this list, there's a chance that Rogowski is available for the Flames at No. 36 when they're on the board again, but if they see him as a potential centre of the future, it may be too hard to deny the combination of size and skill.
3. RW Liam Ruck
Heading into the first-round of the 2026 NHL Draft, one of the most interesting stories around the league is the brother duo of Liam and Markus Ruck, with several teams potentially looking to add one, if not both of them. This past season, they destroyed the WHL for the Medicine Hat Tigers, with Liam posting 45 goals and 104 points in 68 games played, and given that was on a line with Flames prospect Andrew Basha, it's hard to discount the connection.
In all likelihood, a team like Vancouver with a pick early in the 20's and an early second are most likely to take a chance on Ruck, but if he's available at No. 30, with the Flames also picking at No. 36, it will be a thought for Craig Conroy. Sure, you likely don't want one without the other, but Liam has very good potential as a middle-six winger in the NHL, and as a result, he can't be ruled out as a pick here for Calgary.
