4. LHD Ben MacBeath
Dating back to the early parts of the off-season, Ben MacBeath was a player linked to the Flames earlier in the second round, but clearly analysts and teams have cooled on him since, and now, Calgary could land a hometown kid who played for the Calgary Hitmen late in the second. Not only that, but he fills a need as well as being from the area and wanting to play in Calgary, something the Flames have struggled with in recent years.
It wouldn't be just that however, as MacBeath put together his best season in 2025/26 with the Hitmen as he tallied 7 goals and 51 points in 67 games played, and with the combination of size at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds and great skill, the team could do a lot worse than taking the Calgary native in this spot.
3. LW Adam Nemec
For some time now, Adam Nemec has been an intriguing draft target for the Flames late in the second round, and with his brother recently arriving in a blockbuster trade, the pick begins to make more and more sense. Not that Adam hasn't earned it all on his own, as he's blossomed into a very good player with the Sudbury Wolves, posting 14 goals and 35 points in his first season on Canadian soil after arriving from Slovakia.
While Simon is a blue liner, Adam is a very talented winger, and although he may need to put on some muscle, he's produced no matter the occasion, going at a point-per-game for Slovakia at the 2026 World Juniors. Later in the second round and beyond, teams are more willing to take risks to land young players that could turn into NHLers, and with the talent, the connections to Calgary and the potential, Nemec could be a very high potential play for the Flames here.
