The Calgary Flames have a wealth of riches in the 2026 NHL Draft, with two of their three remaining second round picks coming in the Utah Mammoth trade that saw the team part ways with Mackenzie Weegar.
While the last pick in the second-round for Calgary comes at No. 55 overall, there's still going to be some very intriguing prospects available, and for a team that needs quality over quantity, there's a good chance that Calgary package these and try to move up.
However, there's a good chance that they don't do that, and if that's how things play out, here are five names that could be considered solid picks for GM Craig Conroy over the weekend.
5. RW Zach Olsen
There are many potential Calgary natives for the Flames to take a look at in the 2026 NHL Draft, and at No. 55, perhaps the best option of the lot is winger Zach Olsen. Over the past three years, the 18-year-old has been with the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL, and while the offensive game never quite exploded, he showed potential at 6-foot-1, 202 pounds.
In this past season, Olsen had 18 goals and 34 points in 57 games played, and while he would certainly be a long-term development project, he's got the physical tools and the offensive upside that could make him an intriguing pick.
