2. C Thomas Vandenberg

Out of so many players that could be available at No. 55 overall Thomas Vandenberg may be the most exciting, as he won't turn 18 until September despite putting up 50 points in 55 games for the Ottawa 67's this past season.

While the size is already promising at 6-foot-0, 180 pounds, Vandenberg also has plenty of time to grow as a late birthday, and that could be something the Flames take a massive chance on. Right now, Vandenberg has a very high motor and uses his body well, and while he'll have to bulk up to handle what the NHL will throw at him, if he can do that, he's got all the skills to be a very good player at the highest level.

1. C Tomas Chrenko

While he's on the shorter side at 5-foot-11, Tomas Chrenko has long been tabbed as a player that could have an NHL future late in the second round, and it's very easy to see why. Despite being just 18-years-old, Chrenko has spent the last three years playing in the top league in Slovakia, and in 2025/26 he started to dominate, posting 9 goals and 31 points in 44 games played.

When he faced opposition his own age, he was great again with 5 goals and 8 points for Slovakia in 5 games at the World Juniors, showing that his development has been incredibly strong over the years. There's a chance the team may look to bet on size at this position, but given his experience against fully grown men and the offensive talent that comes with it, the team couldn't go wrong with Chrenko here.
