Goals

Much like the points, the goals were down in 2025/26 as the Flames ranked 32nd in the NHL in scoring with just 2.54 goals per game, and given the defensive schemes and low event hockey that Ryan Huska coaches, that may not change this season. That doesn't mean some milestones couldn't be hit however, as the Flames could see several players reaching quality marks in 2026/27.
Matt Coronato
For a few years now, Matt Coronato has been a player predicted to turn into a 30+ goal scorer in the NHL, and while it didn't happen in 2025/26, it's clear that when he gets some luck on his side, that will end up happening. He won't need 30 to get to his first major milestone this season however, as Coronato is just 5 goals away from hitting the 50 mark, and when he hits that, it should be the first of many milestones.
Mikael Backlund
Mikael Backlund has never been much of a goal scorer in his NHL career, but across 17 full seasons with the Flames, he has scored 20+ goals on three occasions and posted double digits 12 times in that span. Now, he finds himself just 18 goals away from 250 in his career, and with two years remaining on his contract, it's a mark he'll pass before he retires from the NHL with the Flames.
